At Vigo Junior School we offer a happy and friendly atmosphere where children can grow to their full potential and become responsible and caring members of the community. Children are happy to come to their school and remember their school days here long after they have left.

We benefit from being a reasonably large junior school and have worked hard to ensure we have a strong family ethos where children feel secure and happy to learn.

We place great emphasis on knowing, caring for and supporting all our children and we promote positive relationships based on praise and encouragement.

Children, staff, governors and parents work closely together to develop a team spirit special to our school. We recognise and value the importance of home and school working together and of developing a vital partnership based on co-operation and trust.

We believe education is about the development of the whole person. We do this by offering a broad, balanced, relevant integrated curriculum. This curriculum is unique to Vigo and offers the children many practical experiences. Alongside this the children go on visits out each term, have a visitor in to support their project work and invite parents in to view their work once per term.
